Do you know why art is important to your education,or what some people from school suggest for art projects? Well there’s lots of information on that! Art can be important for many things and it can be extremely useful.
At Mauro-Sheridan, there are two art teachers, Mr. Wasser for PreK-4th grade, and Ms. Gallagher for 5th-8th grades.
“Art is a way to creatively express your thoughts, feelings and experiences in the world,” says Mr.Wasser.
Edwin Santos in 3rd grade suggests to paint portraits in art and Ava Murphy in 4th would like to do free-draws, she would also like to do paintings.
Mr.Wasser thinks that there should definitely be two separate classrooms, one for Ms.Gallagher and one for Mr.Wasser.
Ms. Landau thinks that art is equally important as other subjects and if she had more time it would be great if her class had art more often or if she could use art to show her classes learning. For example: when her class read Yolanda’s Genius, and they made a bedroom, “it was a use of art and I wish we could do that more often,” says Ms.Landau.
Mr.Wasser thinks that he has enough art supplies but he could always use more because “you can never have enough art supplies”.
Your art teachers plan on having their job permanently because they love teaching art to children. Also their favorite part about being an art teacher is getting to see kids discover new things while creating art.
