We all know Ms.Quirk, our new librarian, but did you know she also worked at “Yale Field for the professional baseball teams as a concession stand manager?”
Ms.Quirk left for her maternity leave on Friday, April 8th. But she will be back after she had her baby.
Ms Quirk’s baby is going to be born on April 12! She also has an almost two year old at home.
Here at Mauro-Sheridan, Ms. Quirk works in our library. “ I love being able to work with the whole school! The library is such an important part of the school community and I find such joy in being able to work with everyone and help the needs of such a wide range of students and staff.”
Before working at Mauro-Sheridan, she was at Edgewood School in New Haven. I was very nervous making the change but coming here has been just wonderful. Everyone has been so welcoming and I have really enjoyed working with the students and the staff. I am in love with my library space and making it the best it can be. I'd like to thank everyone for welcoming me!”
“ I love going to tag sales and flea markets to find unique antiques, artwork, furniture and collectibles. “ Ms.Quirk spilled”I love to decorate my home for each holiday and I love to bake and decorate cakes and cupcakes.”
Ms.Quirk was and still is sure a busy bee! “Pre mommy life I spent my free time going to a lot of concerts, local CT sites, traveling around New England and collecting sea glass. Now in mommy life I spend my free time playing with my son and taking him to aquariums, museums and anywhere there are construction machines!”
“I have worked full time in a school since I graduated college. I have worked many part time jobs while in school and as a librarian! I was an official scorekeeper for West Haven sports for 15 years, I worked over at Yale Field for the professional baseball teams as a concession stand manager and lead waitress, I worked while in college at the (now closed) department store Filene’s and in the education department office at SCSU. Also from 5th grade till I started college I delivered newspapers every morning in my neighborhood!” Ms.Quirk stated.Ms.Quirk sure likes her money!
“I come from a family of educators and it wasn't until I graduated with my undergrad degree in communications and I began working in a school district as a computer aide that found where in the education world I belonged. I'd always enjoyed the uniqueness of a school library and knew once I had a chance to work in one that it was the perfect fit for me. I began library school the next semester!”
