Mauro-Sheridan has an after school robotics program in which students create and program robots made with materials like legos. There are challenges that have to be completed.
There is also a math competition at Yale that the students in the program get to participate in. Your scores are looked at and you get a chance of getting a scholarship for your future college.
Being in robotics can help you with coding and programming which will be very important when you students get older. In robotics, you get to work as a team to complete tasks. You can build with the legos and have lots of fun. Madame Elena is the woman in charge of the program. They point of the program is to work together and have fun.
There are so many things that you learn to do in robotics. You learn to work together, code and program, win by teamwork, and so much more. It’s not all about competition because you’re not going to win every time, it’s about learning, and teamwork.
Madame Elena’s favorite part of robotics is when kids get excited that things work. It’s great when finally all that hard work pays off. It is not easy. In the program she learned how to work with other kids and work with them.
Rohan Bangera,Grade 6, a member of robotics learned more about programming. He says robotics can help you if you want to build a car. He personally likes going to Lake Compounce at the end of the year because you get to hang out with your friends and have fun.
“It’s fun to program robots,” said Martin Melo, 6th grade. “I like to design robots because it can help you become and engineer.”“Martin Melo’s opinion of robotics is that it’s fun to program robots. He likes to design them. Robotics can help you if you want to be an engineer.
To conclude, the after school robotics program is a group where you can learn to program, build and program robots, and go to fun competitions. In robotics you work together and just have fun.
The group meets after school on Wednesdays from 3:30pm - 5:00pm. This program is for students in 4th grade to 8th grade.
